Ha Tinh has a population of 1,289,600 people including 678,244 people in the working age, accounting for 52.59% of the population. The metropolitan areas account for 11.05% and the rural areas account for 88.95%.
There are 630,022 people working in the economic sectors, accounting for 92.89%; 39,217 people working in the industrial and construction sectors, accounting for 6.2%; 515,693 people working in the agricultural sector, accounting for 81.9% and 74,972 people working in the trade and service sectors, accounting for 11.9%.
There are now 29 vocational training institutions in the province which enroll about 30,000 trainees a year. Every year, nearly 30,000 labourers join the work force and over 6,000 labourers are sent to work overseas.
It is expected that by 2020 the number of people working will account for 62% of the population. From now to the year 2020, the Province annually needs more than 10,000 new jobs on average. Ha Tinh Province has worked out a strategy to constantly improve the quality of the population and human resources through solutions to raise people’s intellectual level, expanding training scales and raising the labour force’s professional skills.
